Better Days Pain Management

Led by Causeway Rural and Urban Network on behalf of Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council
The Better Days Pain Management Programme has been designed to improve the mental health and understanding of those who suffer from pain. The programme works to improve the lives of individuals by improving their understanding of pain, enhancing their mental wellbeing, and providing practical strategies to help them manage daily life more effectively.
Delivered by experienced Health Trainers across the network who have extensive experience in supporting people who live with chronic pain and are affected by long-term health conditions. The programme takes a holistic approach to pain management. Participants are encouraged to explore the connection between physical health, emotional wellbeing, and lifestyle choices, helping them build confidence and resilience while developing techniques to improve their quality of life.

Throughout the programme, participants will learn practical tools and strategies covering a range of topics, including:
  • The Five Steps to Wellbeing
  • Distraction and coping techniques
  • Healthy eating and nutrition
  • Staying active through Chi Me and gentle movement
  • Improving sleep and rest
  • Medication management, including awareness of opioid medication
  • Building confidence and resilience
  • Managing the impact of chronic pain on everyday life

The Better Days Programme aims to empower participants with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to take positive steps towards improved health, wellbeing, and a better quality of life.
