CRUN launches new 'Best Practice' Manual
'A Guide to Good Practice and Sustainability for Community and Voluntary Groups'
![]() |

This innovative and informative resource was launched on Wednesday 17th October in the Bannview Gallery, of Coleraine Boruogh Council Offices, by the Minister for the Department of Social Development (DSD) - Margaret Ritchie.
CRUN were delighted that the Minister could take time out of her busy schedule to come and officially launch the pack. Also present was Nigel McKinney from Community Fund for Northern Ireland (CFNI). Both DSD and CFNI have supported CRUN in it's work over the last number of years and it was therefore particularly relevant to have them represented at this important launch.
The pack is a resource manual aimed at encouraging, supporting and enabling local groups to be able to be more effective in their planning, policy & practice, governance and day to day operation, within their communities. Drawing on years of good practice and experience, and referencing previous resource manuals, this pack provides practical support, crucially supplied in plain English!
The packs will be distributed FREE to all CRUN member groups.
The manual is also available for purchase to non members groups, to confirm availability contact info@crun.org
CRUN would like to thank Mark Strong, Countryside Development Officer with Coleraine Borough Council for the photographs contained within the manual, and also for some of the photographs on the website.
