Level 1 YOUTH - Community Drugs Awareness Course

Who is this course for?
Absolutely ANYONE between the age of 14 - 19.

This is a great starter course for those who have absolutely no idea about drugs and alcohol and just want to get a better idea of what’s out there, who is using what and why. It is suitable for absolute beginners right through to young people who are having to deal with drug and alcohol related issues but who have little or no experience in the field.

What does this course cover?
• What is a drug & what do they look like
• Categorising drugs by what they do to the body
• Drugs and the law - recent updates on cannabis and magic mushrooms
• Signs and symptoms of use
• Alcohol – units & health
• Tolerance & addiction
• Getting help


Accreditation
7 credits @ Level 1 (either as a local award - for 16 years of age and under or on the National Qualifications Framework)


Level 2 Peer Leadership Programme

A 10 - 15 session programme with optional Peer Leadership project built in to challengethe young people to develop a projectwhich utilises their new leadership skills.

Who is this course for?

Young people who want to look at developing their leadership skills (aged 16 - 19)
